Feel free to put any backstory or plot change you deem necessary for readers to know before they read your fic. For example, I SUCK at explaining backstory, so I normally add a prologue or answer questions in comment sections. But this is probably a better way to go about it. (You can be as sloppy as you want to be, don’t try to rival Shakespeare himself, just give a short and simple background or plot change, save the skills for the real work :3)
